Terms of Use
Effective October 14, 2026
These terms apply to freefishapp.com (“FreeFish”). By using FreeFish you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use FreeFish.
Using FreeFish
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, use FreeFish with a parent or guardian’s permission.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- FreeFish is free. It is supported by ads and may include labelled affiliate links.
Fishing safety, rules and maps
- Follow the law. You are responsible for having the right license and following all fishing regulations, limits, seasons and access rules. FreeFish does not provide official regulations. Check your state wildlife agency.
- Respect access. A water or point on the map does not mean it is public or legal to reach. Do not trespass.
- Not for navigation. Depth charts come from public surveys that may be old. Where no survey exists, FreeFish shows an estimated depth modeled from the lake’s shape, marked with “~”. Nautical charts are shown for reference only. Never rely on FreeFish for boating navigation or safety.
- Weather and conditions change. Forecasts and suggestions can be wrong. Use your own judgment, watch the weather, and wear a life jacket.
- FreeFish AI can be wrong. AI answers are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete.
Your content
You own the posts, photos, catches and other content you add. You give FreeFish a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display and distribute content you choose to share, only to operate and improve FreeFish. Private catches and saved places stay private unless you share them.
Community rules
Do not post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that shares someone else’s private information. No spam, scams or misleading content, and do not impersonate others. Do not post private property locations without permission. We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules. Use “Report” to flag a problem.
Copyright complaints
We respect copyright and respond to notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on FreeFish infringes your copyright, email our designated agent at privacy@freefishapp.com with the subject “Copyright notice” and include:
- your name, address, phone number and email address;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed;
- a link to, or description of, where the material appears on FreeFish;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
We will remove or disable access to the material and notify the person who posted it. If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice with your name, address, phone number, a description of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the U.S., any district where FreeFish may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the notice, and your signature. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action. We end the accounts of repeat infringers.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse FreeFish: no hacking, scraping at scale, overloading the service, getting around usage limits, or interfering with other users.
Third-party services and data
FreeFish uses maps, weather, depth and other data from government agencies and other providers, and shows third-party ads. We are not responsible for third-party content, websites or products.
